I am biking across America in order to raise money and awareness for the affordable housing issue. The Central US group and I plan to take off May 21st from Virgina Beach, VA and end up in Canon Beach, OR by July 31st. Along the way we will trade our bikes for hammers and build/repair homes for affordable housing organizations approximately once a week.

brrr…cold ride into steamboat springs, CO yesterday. Dave and I decided, whilst biking, that we would ride with Lance in the tour de france after our tour de afrique ride in two years. should be easy… we climbed to rabbit ear pass today, where our lunch was waiting. very cold. After lunch, and a few more miles of climbing, we hit a continuous 8 mile descent towards Steamboat - more continuous than the rockies! Andy and I broke 50 through a slight headwind but i got 51.3 mph! Super excited.

Steamboat started off awesome. Dave and I checked out a couple of nice bike shops, ate a combined 4500+ calories at McDonalds, and got free tokens up a ski lift to an awesome descent by slide! The slide was epic. 10 minutes up, <1’30” down.

Then everyone chilled out at the church. We had a good dinner provided by our B&B dinner crew, thank you. I watched some nice church tales like the tale of peter rabbit and benjamin bunny and then a few of us watched look whos talking too.

today is our day off so I am catching everyone up now and soon to be exploring the town some more. peace out cub scout
