today was a day for flat tires. i fortunately had no flats but tons of people were getting them. One girl managed to get 3… though not her fault. we rode light gravel today for about 70 miles which was the trouble maker for most. mostly everyone is covered with mosquito bites from stopping on the trail to change flats.
we rode around town and i was given a hot dog at a stand and a bottle cage at a bike shop. People are very supportive once they find out what we are doing so Thank You! A few of us found a pizza place to eat as well. At the end of the day my total mileage was 85.something. not a hard day but we made some ground.
-RAAM(Race Across America) is passing right by us tonight which i may go out to see. For those who don’t know, these people are racing bicycles from the west coast to the east cost in 10-13 days. 3000 miles. do the math. they’re crazy bikers. why wouldn’t i stay up til 1:30 in the morning to watch one of them pass me for a second?
goodnight
